Here is Dan's reply to my question about the F16 crash. Is the flying time a good clue? The choppers can fly pretty fast, but from what I've seen with choppers in the Sally coridor, they don't travel at full speed. Figuring on 70MPH, that would only be 30 to 40 miles from Nellis.

I don't know of the exact location but it took a HH-60 25 minutes flying
time to bring the pilot back to Nellis.Somewhere in the northern ranges and
in a pretty unaccessible area according to the F-15's which were sent out.
