I claim it is a waste of time and effort to try to park really close to Tikaboo. The hike is so bad on the slopes that who cares about a few hundred feet of relatively gentle hiking. You even get shade from the trees. I parked at N37 20 52.8 W115 20 36.6, which is 95 feet from where the Tikaboo page said was the limit without 4wd. [The web site puts the last 2WD point at N37 20 53.3 W115 20 37.5] I will park even further away next time since it was tough to turn the car around in such a narrow area. I would say that a 4WD would save you less than 2/1-th of a mile of easy hiking.

Needless to say, I hope you have some sort of GPS. I am totaly brain dead navigating without one. In fact, when hiking back from Tikaboo I swore the GPS was telling me to go in the wrong direction until I realized about 10 minutes later it was right and my memory was wrong.
