Probably seen this exact Eagle flying over my house many many times, its based a few hundred miles away at RAF lakenheath and i followed them over to CONUS on HF with their Tanker.

Told you the americans will be coming from Lakeheath, Joerg, except i didnt mean falling on you....

A 493FS F-15C crashed today while participating in the
Green Flag exercise at Nellis AFB. This is the first loss of a
493FS Eagle, which occured at 10.45PST North of Rachel,
Nevada. The pilot, Capt. Christopher Kirby ejected safely
and was picked up by an ArNG UH-60.
The aircraft was one of twelve which deployed direct from
Lakenheath to Nellis on 27th July (Trend 31/41 Flights).
