I think the original question actually referred to the markings ON the dry lake bed, rather than the lake itself. There appears to be geometric markings on the lake bed similar to (but fewer than) the marking on Rogers Dry Lake at Edwards AFB in CA. Perhaps they are navigation aides, or range calibration markings, or direction finders. Richard, can you elaborate on this?
