Travis AFB is in northern California near the "delta" town of Fairfield. It is so windy there that even though it is a USAF base, the Navy trainer there because the conditions are similar to carrier decks.

You will notice a Tacamo in one of the photos. Travis at one time has some sort of nuclear mission. I believe the Tacamo's were part of the mission.
