When I refered to the line being down, I meant only that portion in the far northern reaches, Areas 19 and 20. Apparently there's not a real need for it, so maintaining it up there is a low priority.

I've never heard of anyone specifically saying he flew into Area 19. I heard a secondhand story from a professional pilot who had some buddies that claimed they flew "somewhere" and landed at a disguised field. He thought they had indicated a spot at Area 19 on his map, but he wasn't sure.

BTW, now that the Terraserver and Ikonos photos are easily available, notice how hard it would be to hide a runway for jet aircraft? The landing skid marks stand out like a sore thumb! Look how easy it was to tell which of the Groom runways were active.
