You dont have to be military to work for EG&G afterall it isnt the military who own it.

Most of the workers at Groom lake and tonopah are civvies not military....which is why they have to go home first before the tests are carried out.

Watched a Discovery program on Atomic Cameramen of the NTS recently....all EG&G employees. Official EG&G film and so on....even had a Japanese cameraman filming the atomic bombs...with 2 men standing with a camera underneath an atomic detonation air burst on Frenchman Flat...both EG-&G employees to catch what it looks like underneath exploding....they came to no harm, just a small shockwave hitting them but nothing else....
I guess the 35$ an hour didnt cover the standing under a nuclear weapon detonation....!!!

Arn't EG&G owned by another firm now?
