Hi chaps Site-4 located SE of Tonopah Test Range is the main electronic Combat Range facility on the Nellis Bombing and Gunnery Ranges. S-4 is the location that Lockheed Martin operate from and which the F-117 and Darkstar were tested....aswell as the SR-71 and U-2! Regards
It is extensively used during Green Flag and also in Red Flag.
Together with its role in supporting the ECR warfare it also supports Black Programs in the RCS tests that need to be carried out.
The F-117 was tested here for its RCS also aswell as other locations.
Site-4 works in conjunction with Tolicha Peak ECR to the SW near Black mountain Threat simulators.
The Areas go from S2 - S9
S-2 is Northrop and is where the B-2 and tacit Blue were tested
S9 is NOW northrops but was operated by teledyne ryan testing the global hawk and various other TIER programs....which now come under northrop since they bought Teledyne.
Papoose lake is just a dry lake bed and is actually part of Range 65....Nellis based aircraft can fly over Papoose everyday and they never see anything....and thats close up low level.
Mark Farmer(Agent X) overflew Papoose in the back seat of an F-16 aswell and he never saw anything....
