Probable reason for hiring is because EG&G landed a contract with USAF to supply civilian pilots to fly T-43A's (737) with the 12th Flying Training Wing at Randolph AFB, Texas starting May 1, 2000. USAF did this because of their pilot shortage and this will allow them to return 26 active duty pilots to operational units.
