Sometimes it pays to read your own messages. That rental site in St. George is not that far out of the way. The Cessna 210 can fly quite a bit faster than a 172, so the higher cost can be made up by the faster speed.

Looking at Tom's flight, I estimate there the flight covered 270 miles. Distance back and forth from North Las Vegas is about 30 miles. If you average 100 mph, the trip is 3 hours. If you average 180 mph in the cessna 210, the time is about 2.4 hours total, including the trip to St. George. The cost difference is $609 versus $405, which of course can be split by two passengers. More bucks, but better photographs. Plus from St. George, you may be able to fly right over the Meadow Valley Wash and spot the a12 cameras, driving Tom bonkers. ;-)
