Getting a case or two of bottled water is a good idea. I bring one 6 gallon "can" of auto water like Hank suggested. You can use about two gallons just to put out a cooking fire. [If you are not going to leave the area, you could probably not bother putting the fire out, but I wouldn't leave something smoking for the next visitor to discover.] You can refill the water jug at the Exon station or the Chevron. I'm not sure about fix a flat. I carry a hand pump (no, not the Austin Powers model) and a tire plug kit. However, driving on rough dirt roads, you often don't discover you have a flat until the tire is really trashed, so it may not be patchable. Obviously, a spare is a must. BlackF150 got a flat near the backgate, one of the better roads.
