Don't bother packing the cell phones or TV's, the phones don't work near Rachel or Area 51 (no repeaters) and the only broadcast TV signal you can get a decent picture from in this area is KLAS, Channel 8, out of Las Vegas that is rebroadcast on Channel 11 in the immediate Rachel area only.

Your low slung car should be OK to use at a moderate speed on Groom Lake Road, Mailbox Road, and the road to the Back Gate as they are all fairly well maintained dirt roads (firm, not sandy).

Don't worry, any snakes you might encounter don't want any more to do with you than you do with them!
