The viewing spot that I posted was east of the base. When I was there week before last I went about 1/4 mile north of the area 2 entrance. The fence line and posting end there and you can drive east into the desert. Their are some dirt bike trails there so even a car will have no trouble. The normal takeoff pattern due to the prevailing winds is usually north to south,as is the normal approach and landing patterns.I guess it depends what kind of pics you like whether you think this is good or bad. I prefer pics of them landing as I can get closer shots. I have researched pretty good at the south end and cant find a spot where I can get a decent close up shot.Some of us will be in Rachel Monday and Tuesday, hope to see you at the Inn, or at the summit.
