As I recall from the article, I don't think the U-2 and Sr-71 were side by side mate.
I think the 'baby B-2' was near the Sr-71 and the U-2 a short distance away.

I plan to go over the back issues of the magazine over the weekend, I'll look it up.
The author of the article was Gerry Carman as I recall, and the sighting of the 'baby b-2' was mentioned in passing in the middle of the article which focussed on the Boeing work on the X-32 at the time .
