There were 12.731 Boeing B-17's produced during WWII. The one you are looking for is probably a late-war F or G variant that was converted to the F-9B. Long odds since so many were unceremoniously scrapped at the wars end. You might try the Boeing website, or floating a question on one of the many WWII websites like the Eighth Air Force's. Interesting to note that the Eighth had the highest casualty rate of any American unit in the war and the B-17's accounted for HALF of ALL air-to-air kills (including fighters such as the P-38, P-47, and P-51) recorded by USAAF in WWII. Then after that the Strategic Bomb survey commisioned after the wars end concluded that the Heavy bombing raids conducted during the war had little to no effect on the German Industry or overall war effort. Interesting.
