Well, go ahead and set up the camera and give us the link, especially if it is "quite easy".

Having transmitted NFM on Tikaboo, I can tell you there are very few places with infrastructure on the ground for the other half of the equation (web connection). There is no line of site to Rachel or Alamo. Cell phone service, when you can hit one, is analog, not 2.5G that would at least provide a crappy video.

You could feed a signal in the "free band" to Crystal Springs, but the antenna would be quite obvious since you need lots of gain and aperture to use a low power transmitter. The hardware (camera, transmitter, and simple PC) would need about 1.7Amps at 5V. Using a 3 to 1 ratio for the solar cell (non-tracked), that would require 25 watts. A solar cell of this size would be visible from the air, and the military flights go over Tikaboo often.

Have you been on the peak? If not, you need to understand the remoteness of the area. I think the government sleeps quite well at night knowing there is no web cam on Tikaboo.

Feel free to check out the wireless webcam at the link provided. With great effort, the wifi runs over a 6 mile link.
