I already have photos of the area near the Cactus sign where the field should of been seen, and nothing was visible. I'll drive to the one near Reveille and see if I can find the field when I'm on top of it. I would imagine the area wouldn't have much to find since the try to keep the strips clean.

A more interesting site to find would be near California City, not far from Edwards. I was talking to a WWII vet at the Edwards show who was a photographer in the Navy. He said there was a mock Japanese city site they used to bomb for WWII practice.

If you like looking at old junk (which I do too), the road to Brainwash Butte is full of old junk, but only mining stuff as far as I can tell. You need to use caution in any mining area as the mine shafts are not "secured", i.e. there are holes in the ground going straight to hell with no fence around them. You need to walk like you are looking for snakes, which is incidentally how I walk in open field. ;-)
