MOSCOW, RUSSIA (Thursday, May 1, 2003) The veil of secrecy seems to be slowly lowering over the April 18, Kaliningrad/Baltisk UFO Incident. While television coverage has continued, to some extent, although tapered down to a trickle, and no longer a "leading" story, comments from official sources are becoming quite cryptic. While the incident was widely seen, both by witnesses on the scene and by a wide television audience, some governmental sources, representing both the Russian Federation and the United States are officially denying even the knowledge that the incident took place.

The Russian Sixth Army Anti-Aircraft Headquarters, in the Kaliningrad/Baltisk Region was contacted by WinterSteel correspondent Nikolay "L", on the 28th of April. They were asked, directly, to comment on the UFO incident which was reported by the RTR news crew, on national television, in a live broadcast from Baltisk on the 18th of April, 2003, at 6:00 pm Moscow Standard Time.

Speaking on behalf of Russian Sixth Army Anti-Aircraft Bureau at Kaliningrad/Baltisk, a senior officer, who has asked that his name not be revealed, "categorically refuses to issue any comment or statement on the UFO incident of the 18th of April". The Russian Sixth Army "categorically refuses to either confirm or deny the incident".

Likewise, Howard Solomon, Chief of American Citizen Services of the United States Embassy, in Moscow, stated to WinterSteel's James Choron that he had "absolutely no statement to make" regarding the incident in Kaliningrad/Baltisk. He further denied any "direct knowledge" of the incident.

Such comments as these strike at least some researchers as being reminicent of the events which immediately followed the famous (some would say "notorious") Roswell Incident of 1947, and numerous other reports of Unidentified Flying Object sightings/downings, which have occurred since, which, initially were openly reported, but immediately afterward, covered over in a literal swarm of "official" denials and "explanations".

Note I first heard of this on coast to coast say 2-3 weeks ago and not word since then.
