OK. I'll admit it. My first time at the border, I didn't take any photos because the signs freaked me out. I hadn't seen photos of the signs before. I found out about Area 51 listening to Art Bell, not surfing the net (big mistake), so I kind of knew where it was, but not really. I came up from Vegas, bought a map from the disinformation center for a buck (such a deal), and then hit both front and back borders. I set a low speed record approaching the back gate because you can see it (and they can see you) from some distance, which got on my nerves.

You might also want to read up a bit about basecamp if you are going to do the full tour. I didn't know what it was and knocked on the door for directions to the nearest gas station. Well, they don't have a fence or anything, how was I supposed to know what's up.
