Glad to hear that the Tikaboo gate is still open. For the record, I called BLM a while back and was told that Tikaboo and the access road from Alamo is public land, and that anyone can travel there, as well as camp on Tikaboo for up to 14 days at a time.
The sheriff heading out on GL Rd. is unusual, also the chopper activity. You weren't driving around in a tank, by any chance?
The Lincoln sheriff can usually be heard on 154.860 FM. The road where you saw him come out last leads directly south to the North (Back) Gate. Sounds like he went out there on the road from Rachel, and then went north to meet the Highway where you saw him come out. Which direction was he heading on the Hwy?
