You could hear them over by the powerlines near Alamo as well as in town. If you haven't heard the T-birds practice, it is kind of interesting. Each pilot has a conversation with the boss regarding their performance. BTW, you can also hear the Janet planes talk to the Groom tower from Vegas. You only get half the conversation, i.e. just the plane. Still, kind of fun.
