Repeat after me: TRUST THE MEDIA, TRUST THE MEDIA, TRUST THE MEDIA. My first rule is to only believe what I can confirm from three independent sources or someone on the ground who saw it with his own bloodshot eyes. (In the case of newspaper reports about airplane crashes, the foregoing doesn't even apply, as any of us who have chased TITANIUM in the desert know so well!) Believe me, the press is not a good source of data most of the time, no matter how plausible. I'd trust the word of a few smart people in lawn chairs in the desert before I'd trust most news outlets.
