Pretty cool stuff. Here's a link to the abbreviated version of the FedBizOpps transcipt from DARPA for the MAS (Morphing Aircraft Structure).

The technology is based on carbon fiber components that when electrically charged, or discharged, works similarly to the muscle structures in our body, yet miniscule in size. The hard part is developing the skin of the aircraft so that it is flexible, yet strong enough for high speed flight and high G forces. The technology will also be implemented in miniature AI robotics. I've seen this stuff work. It blows your mind.

I've been told that a MAS has already been tested, a flying prototype small in scale, at our favorite location.
