If you go to
http://www.flytecomm.com/support/downloads.html
and download the "airport list", you will get a text file of what may be all known airports. I'm not sure about the completeness of this list, but it has about 22K airport codes. Anyway, the list is too large to handle by hand, but if you know how to read and parse a file into Excel, the list becomes reasonable. You will need to sort the data. Now I got the data into
the spreadsheet and poked around a bit in the Nevada section. What is interesting is an entry for airport code XSD, which is listed as the Test
Range airport.
Surfing the net a bit, most databases that find XSD claim it is the Tonopah
Test Range, but that code is TNX. So what is going on here?
