Thanks John, thats the one I was thinking of. The attached link has some excellent info and photos of the Horten Flying wing. Look for the Ho IX (Ho 229).

Aparently it only made a few test flights in late 1944 and early 1945. One of them ended in a fatal crash shortly before the end of WW2.
