Other than they are made in a politically well connected state, I can't fathom why these gyroplanes are considered superior to helicopters. Since they can't hover, they certainly are less capable than helicopters. What really makes little sense is picking such an usual airplane. The Hawk 4 says "Hey, look at me, I'm not an innocent traffic helicopter, but Homeland Security." It's like trying to do undercover police work in a Rolls Royce. NEST and the CIA use run of the mill airplanes so that they don't attract attention. Homer says Doh!
