Yes, it is on Tempiute Mountain. See the attached link for the coordinates of the gate, and directions. The "parking area" (its really just a turnaround spot at the end of the passable road) is a beautiful sheltered camp site, close to the remains of Old Tempiute. No view at the Groom airspace from there, though. If you pass the gate, and keep hiking uphill, past the mine, you come to a spot with a beautiful view over both Tikaboo and Sand Spring Valley. Not much for Area 51 watchers, though. The higher Groom Range is between you and the base. But the view is spectacular! There is another trail, opposite from the gate. It leads up to the Rachel TV repeaters. Nice view, but lower elevation.
