Revealing things that document the presence and operation of the base do prove it does exist. Camo dudes, security choppers, radio transmissions, a private airline fleet and photos of the base itself help to clear the air regarding the existence of Area 51. All the government acknowledges is Area 51 is a place that you can't sue for environmental damages.

IMHO, if they took the approach of the TTR, i.e. put up a sign and acknowledge it exists without really stating why it exists, 3/4ths of the "audience" would go home.
