I've been researching another project, and was hoping someone here might have some ideas regarding directed energy, specifically high-power microwaves (I suppose this could be directed at Hal). Often when they are discussed in a military context, there are oblique references to the C-130; does anyone have any ideas as to why this aircraft in particular seems to be popping up for me again and again?

Obviously it can carry a lot, and I would expect any DEW device to be pretty large...any other ideas?
