I was talking to one of the Rachel locals (Chuck I think) and mentioned the Nellis petting zoo, and got a blank stare, so I gather it isn't too well known, at least by that name. Anyway, the petting zoo is the nickname of the Threat Training Facility (TTR). It has lots of Russian planes, radar, etc. You can take a virtual tour at the link I provided.

You may recognize the "side net" radar that is out near the back gate of area 51.
