the report indicates that Walt was on the 100 degree radial of the Tacan at a location Tom kept secret. But since we know the LZ was the Cheroke mine, you can ask the question "where would a tacan be located such that it's 100 degree radial would be in line with the Cheroke mine?" Well, I already know the answer since I made up the question. The location would be Bald Mountain.

I don't have a photo handy of a Tacan, but the ones I've seen look like a water tank on a tower. I can't say I've seen anything like that on Bald Mountain, but maybe they hide the Tacan in the one of the radomes.
