I think the analysis is not fair because they don't factor in the support for each plane, pilot training, etc. Of course, I don't expect much more than that out of Fox news. The comments on the SR-71 mission not being replaced are interesting. How does Fox New know it hasn't been replaced. Recon is general saves the country money because it allows planners to know the enemy resources and then build up our own defenses accordingly. As much as the US overbuilt during the cold war, it would have been much more without the recon. The real advantage to the Global Hawk is we won't risk a repeat of the Gary Powers incident, nor lose the life of any pilot.
