A couple of weeks ago we reported about construction activity at the Area 51 North Gate (aka Rachel Back Gate).
In the meantime the new Guard Shack is in operation, and the windows have been darkened. The old shack is empty (except for an old phone) and appears abandonned. The cameras on top are gone.
There are two new barriers now, one right at the border, where the old barrier used to be, and another one by the new Guard Shack, some 30 yards inside the perimeter. A new chain link fence was put up on both sides of the road between the two barriers. This way vehicles entering the base are completely enclosed while security checks them in.
The construction trailer is gone, and it appears that there will be no more major construction activity for now.
