I didn't see your post about the green exhaust flame until just now. I once heard a story when I worked at Edwards from somebody who saw an aircraft crossing overhead very late one night with a green exhaust flame. The thing of it was, he went to great lengths to demonstrate how it was slowly wagging back-and-forth "like a snake's tail", using a piece of string on a table. He said he saw twice in one night.
