The fact that the YF-113G and the YF-24 aircraft use the term "YF" obviously means that they are demonstrators but demonstrators for what?
If we take the example of the YF-118G Bird of Prey they had obviously declassified it because the technologies which employ it were not really secret any more, that can be to say that the YF-113G and that the YF-24 uses can be still technologies which must remain confidential for the moment, anyway if these 2 aircraft are still under the veil of the secrecy these that there must be a reason.
As Joerg already said we are much more technologically advanced in the field of aeronautics than it seems, I wonder very seriously what they are testing other than the NGAD program in Groom Lake at this time.
Groom Lake must obviously play a very big role in the 6th generation aircraft right now, the Men and Women who work at Groom Lake are brilliant people who do a not easy job.
By the way, do you have the date when these 2 aircraft could have made their first flight at Groom Lake?
