Honestly, for a 640-page hardcover book about a rather niche topic, $75 is pretty reasonable. Schiffer may follow up the release with a paperback version, which is likely to be significantly cheaper, if you simply cannot afford the hardcover.

But I do have a question for Peter, if he's watching: will the book be released in eBook format? I buy most of my books this way these days.
