Approximately when did it occur to the USN that their carrier groups were vulnerable to the PLA? Because it's not like China's development has been very quiet over the past few decades.

Were they too committed to the F-35?
China-US political sensitivity?

Inevitably the entirety of the US military and our government needs to come to the same wake-up call against what's going on across the ocean. We are behind the curve. Every day China gets strategically more powerful.
