there does seem to be a bit of a weird -almost contradictory - conundrum about the place

on one hand, they're making massive improvements throughout the ranges

and yet on the other, many of these companies seem to be moving back to a realm of doing everything in house - as demonstrated by the B21, the entire thing can be designed, engineered and built inside a single hanger, without ever touching the outside world.

The NGAD was/is/will probably be developed and tested there, but probably no need for the B21.

IMHO, There seemed to be a hint of a big 'burst' of tech progression around 2017/2018 based on the beginnings of these improvements to the base facilities and contracts going out, but compared to precedent, it still feels that there hasn't been as much or as steady a rate of development now as in the past.

and given the quality of tech available to civilians now, the difficulty in hiding these things is jsut going to get harder and harder
