Since Groom is a military installation they are more than likely using CAC (Common Access Card) which is a photo ID without personal identifying information and branch of service, or civilian government agency, or contractor company. Here is a link with more info.

Considering the extremely sensitive nature of the work and status of the base, security is going to be taken as seriously as a heart attack, even more so than a typical military installation.
