The color change is likely due to flooding. We had a lot of rain this monsoon season. If you look closely you can see some sand in the latest GE image. That taxiway is no longer used and there is no reason to clean it. You can see a lighter colored, sandy wash area crossing that section of taxiway south to north, towards the lakebed.
