I’ve just bought the May 2002 issue of ‘Airpower’ magazine published by Republic Press in Woodland Hills, CA. It has a full history of the A-12 program, and some great never-before seen pics of the aircraft at the ‘test site’ in the early 1960’s.

One quote in the story attributed to Ben Rich in 1994 is, “Had we built the Blackbird in the year 2010, the world would still have been awed by such an achievement!”

An excellent read if you can get a hold of a copy.
