They never shot it down at all, at least, not by themselves! LOL I have a friend who used to be a crew chief on the 117s for quite awhile, and he mentioned to me that this particular aircraft was a major maintenance headache for the guys, and what really happened was that its wing fell off, therefore obviously making it quite visible. Another 117 also had this problem, you might recall, at an airshow in Ohio I believe it was, the wing just snapped off....
