Yes, that confirms my impression that they were flying inside "the box". Attached is the flight path of MIG3 that day. Clearly they were operating inside "the box" around Groom Lake. The time coincides with the Red Flag sortie. As far as I know this is the first time Red Flag uses "the box" instead of treating it as a neutral country with denied overflight permission. The reason could be that assets at Groom are being used, such as the Russian radar sites. I am sure they have more recent stuff in Emigrant Valley than the sites at the Back Gate. This makes sense especially in the current geopolitical climate.
