Ok, let's assume your technical explanation is correct. So why "demonstrate" the technology when/where it was done, violating federal laws and endangering the lives of TPD and CBP aircrew in the process? What would have happened if one of the helos had a CFIT? Seems like a safer/better test could have been completed on a secure, instrumented range flying against top flight aircrew like the 160th.
