Flightradar24 Alerts for US Military 7700 Squawks

I have my Flightradar24 account set up to notify me of emergency 7700 squawks. Over the past few months, I'm seeing a significant increase in the number of these inflight emergency squawks for US military, primarily USAF, a/c.

Has something changed relative to FR24 and reporting military transponder codes, or are we seeing a legitimate increase in military emergencies?
