Those TTR based A-7s, and subsequently the 117 program, received unwanted publicity when one of them crashed into a hotel at the Indianapolis Airport in the fall of 1987. Bruce Teagarden ejected safely, but several people in the hotel were killed. The avionics test a/c cover story came under a lot of scrutiny as a result.
