An RAAF F-111G (ex-FB-111) was actually being trialled with a new pneumatic ejection rack on behalf of Boeing and the US DoD last year. It has way fewer moving parts and doesn't rely on pyrotechnics to eject the weapons, hence a longer life and less 'hang ups'! The physics involved in efficiently ejecting a weapon through a supersonic shear layer adjacent to a fuselage is quite amazing! Trouble is, they're going to have to dial down the force it uses to eject the weapons for the F-22, as the roof of the weapons bay in the 22 isn't strong enough to withstand the reaction forces! I can email more info if anyone is interested. Magoo
