Yes! There have been many sonic booms lately. The various Pahrump Facebook pages usually residents say there are noises from mining but to me they are obviously sonic booms. Often in the late afternoon! I live in the South end of Pahrump. They definitely do NOT avoid the town at times when it would be so easy to avoid Pahrump. I am sure many of you are familiar with the large area Nye county covers where hardly anyone lives.
