The Su-37 and the S-37 are totally different aircraft. The Su-37 is an advanced development of the Su-27 fighter/interceptor. It has 3D thrust-vectoring, forward canards, and an advanced phased-array air-to-air radar. It is flying in prototype form only at present, and it is doubtful whether Russia can afford to buy any. There is a slightly less developed version dubbed the Su-30MK/I which has entered very limited service with Russia and India, and is also being license built in India and soon to be China. http://home.achilles.net/~rjl/aircraft_html/su37.html The S-37 'Berkut' is a large forward swept wing (FSW) technology demonstrator that is yet to be developed to a production standard. It has borrowed the engines and cockpit from the Su-27, but is otherwise a totally different looking airplane. Once again, there are serious doubt about whether Russia has either the will or the funds to develop this concept into a service acceptable aircraft. There are also serious doubts about how stealthy the S-37 would be. Although the shaping may be more advanced than previous Russian designs, it has a long way to go in detail shaping, internal weapons carriage, RAM/appliques and other detail design, to even come close to 4th generation western designs such as F-22 and JSF. http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/9735/suclass.htm Magoo
