A) That air vehicle is freaking huge. It is in the contrail zone and showing like that? That is not some small scale air vehicle.

B) White is a great colour for many reasons. Sure, if your airframe cannot adjust its luminosity and hue, it could be a problem in some areas, but, *shrug* it is easier to turn a white background dark than it is to turn a dark background light. Food for thought.

* Also is great for ultra long endurance high altitude work.

C) I'd wager that the day this picture was taken? There was a lot of U-2 activity about and some beat up work across the USN test area off the cali coast.
